How To Keep My Hair Looking Good All Day

Rain, humidity, wind - all these elements and more threaten to ruin your style as soon as you walk out the door. It can be disheartening to see what the day can do to your hair. Thankfully, there are steps that you can take to keep your hair looking great all day long. If you want to know what they are, keep on reading.

Keep a Hair Essentials Bag with You

When the weather does its worst and makes your hair look a mess, it pays to be prepared. One of the best things you can do in this regard is to keep a hair essentials bag with you. Then, as needed, you can restyle or spruce up your mane wherever you go.

Here are some ideas for items to put in the bag:

  • Spray bottle of water

  • Moisturizer

  • Gel

  • Styling Mousse

  • Serum

  • Comb Brush

  • Spritz/Hairspray

  • Pins, scrunchies, rubberbands

To conserve space, it pays to invest in some travel-sized items. It’s never a good idea to lug a bunch of full-sized items everywhere you go - that could easily become an annoyance.

Promote the Health of Your Hair

The healthier your hair is, the easier hair styling and maintenance is. When your hair is damaged or otherwise unhealthy, you may have to jump through hoops to make it look nice, and it may start to frizz up or rebel as soon as you walk out the door. To reduce the chance of this happening, prioritize hair health at every turn. And by that, we mean:

  • Ensure your hair is adequately moisturized.

  • Be gentle with styling.

  • Use conditioner, deep conditioner, and other hair treatments as needed.

  • Always use a heat protectant before heat-styling your hair.

  • Go easy on the hair color and bleaching sessions.

  • Protect your hair and scalp from the sun.

It all sounds like a lot, but your hair will thank you by looking better for longer - even all day!

Use Hairspray or Spritz Beforehand

When you style your hair against its natural nature, it’s likely to rebel. To whip it into submission, so to speak, you can use hairspray or spritz. Both of these products will give your hair hold, so you won’t have to do much, if any, primping later.

Just be careful how much you use - it’s very easy to overuse hair products with hold. And never comb or brush your hair after having used hairspray - that’s a recipe for damage, frizz, and breakage.

To get an all-day hold, hold the can about 8 inches away from your hair and spray in short bursts.

So, there you have it - everything you need to know about getting your hairstyles to last all day. We hope you found all the information you were looking for, and we wish you the best with your hair!
